Taipei City Government newly announces smoking is prohibited at the entrance square of Taipei Zoo, and sidewalks around Taipei American School and Shih Hsin University (including College of Management)

To build a smoking-free environment and to protect the public from passive smoking, the Department of Health, Taipei City Government has announced that the entrance square of Taipei Zoo, and sidewalks around Taipei American School, and Shih Hsin University (including College of Management) are set to be smoking-free areas. The regulation is based on Article 15, Paragraph 1, No. 13 of Tobacco Hazard Prevention Act and has come into effect as of May 31, 2016. According to Article 31, Paragraph 1, violators will be fined from NT$2000 to NT$10,000.
