Shuangxi Estuary Wetland Park to Open to the Public

A map of the “Three Museum and Two Park” area in ShilinTaking up an area of roughly 2.3 hectares and serving as a key component of the Taipei Science and Arts Park Development Project, the Shuangxi Estuary Wetland Park is expected to open to the public in 2022.
The new park is a part of the “Three Museums and Two Parks” area in Shilin District, which encompasses Taipei Children’s Amusement Park, National Taiwan Science Education Center, Taipei Astronomical Museum, and Meilun Park. The domain will become the new landmark in Shilin – a cluster of facilities specializing in domains spanning arts to science to humanities.
During the inspection trip on December 17, Mayor Ko Wen-je paid special attention to aspects including access convenience and public transportation flow within the parameters of Taipei Science and Arts Park. Plans are being made to set up a new Circle Line MRT station along Zhongzheng Road and Jihe Road. This will strengthen the link between the park and other tourist attractions in Shilin District.
Also, in consideration of flood prevention and setting up multiple access point to the park, plans have been made to build a 170-meter-long overpass that cuts across the levee and connects to the riverside bicycle trails. In the future, this area promises to become an important, must-visit eco-attraction along the Taipei Grand Trail.
The planned opening of the Shuangxi Estuary Wetland Park is slated for September of 2022. The facility will be a place of leisure and green buffering the riverbank and urban tech centers, making it a place suitable for young and old, as well as for the entire family.
