On May 15, 2023, the topping-out ceremony for the construction project of the “New Multipurpose Building of Taipei Municipal Nei-Hu Junior High School”, undertaken by the New Construction Office, Public Works Department, Taipei City Government, was held at the construction site. Deputy Commissioner Chang Yu-Hui of the Public Works Department presided over the ceremony, leading the attendees in burning incense and offering prayers, wishing for the smooth progress and safety of all the staff and machinery involved in the project.

Mr. Hsiao Chih-Lung, the head of the Public Works Section, New Construction Office, Public Works Bureau, said that the New Multipurpose Building of Taipei Municipal Nei-Hu Junior High School consists of a 2-story underground public parking lot and a 3-story above-ground building. Since the commencement of the project on April 26, 2021, the construction team has faced various challenges, including the impact of the pandemic. However, despite these challenges, the construction workers have made diligent efforts and gradually completed various operations, ensuring the advancement of the project. Currently, the structural frame construction has been completed. Upon project completion, it will provide parking spaces for the local community, and the school will also have a multi-functional activity center for organizing events, performances, and other activities. Additionally, the newly built classrooms will provide students with a diverse learning environment, making it a multi-functional building that provides the school community and local residents with a high-quality, sustainable, friendly, and safe space for teaching and other activities.

Mr. Huang Chia-Wei, the head of the Nangang Construction Branch, Public Works Section, New Construction Department said that this project is designed and supervised by Chiu Y.C. Architect & Associates, with the concept of the “Little Sun over the Lake” as the main theme. The design incorporates techniques that resonate with the environment, promoting airflow, natural lighting, and creating multi-level spaces. It aims to be an energy-efficient green building that “makes way for the wind.” Upon completion, it will provide students with a better learning environment. Furthermore, by opening up the campus and sharing educational resources with the community, as well as optimizing the use of parking spaces, it will enrich the lives of the citizens and contribute to the overall functionality of the area.
