Dedicated to Community Disaster Preparedness Parent-Child Fun and Leisure Carnival

The Taipei City Government Fire Department’s 2nd District HQs, in collaboration with the Lions Clubs International 300A3 District, will jointly host a " Dedicated to Community Care for Youth Disaster Prevention and Parent-Child Fun and Leisure Carnival " on January 28th (Sunday) from 13:30 to 16:30 at Lingyun Wuchun Square (No. 12, Sec. 3, Academia Rd., Nangang Dist., Taipei City). The event will feature various disaster prevention and awareness booths, aiming to enhance the public's understanding of disaster preparedness. Citizens are warmly invited to participate in this event.

According to the Fire Department’s statistics, in 2022, a total of 1,263 fires occurred in Taipei City, resulting in 12 deaths and 48 injuries. The dominant cause of home fires is cooking fire, followed by electrical factors.

The Taipei City Fire Department appeals to the public to pay attention to fire safety at home.

It's important to practice the concept of "turn off the stove when leaving" when cooking to enhance residential fire safety.

When using electrical equipment, we must follow the six principles below:

1. Never overload an extension lead by plugging in appliances that will exceed the maximum current rating of the extension lead.

2. Avoid using bundled or damaged electrical wires.

3. Unplug electrical devices when not in use.

4. Avoid using damp or defaced plugs.

5. Keep combustibles away from electrical appliances.

6. Do not purchase or use products that are lack of safety labels.

In addition to stage performances and quizzes on disaster prevention knowledge, the Fire Department also provides booths for experiences such as "Electrical safety", "Skills of the Warrior", "Cooking Fire safety", "Smoke Exposure Simulations ", and the promotion of the "Video Call 119 App and Taipei City Disaster Prevention App". Through educational materials prepared by the Fire Department, expert explanations, and hands-on experiences, participants can learn various disaster prevention and disaster response knowledge up close. We believe that citizens who participate in the event will gain valuable insights, and we enthusiastically welcome everyone to join us.
