In addition, the Office won the Golden Stone Prize in the Excellent Public Construction Category (Planning Group) for four projects, including the “Taipei City Beitou District Daoxiang New Construction Project of the Department Building”, the “Changde Street Subway Connection Project”, the “Zhongxiao East Road Section 4 Underground Entrance New Construction Project”, and the “Taipei City Neihu District XinHu Elementary School Activity Center New Construction Project”. The award ceremony was held in the CPC Building on October 27, 2021, and Vice President Lai also attended the ceremony. It’s the New Construction Office’s fourth award-winning moment within two months after winning the 2021 FIABCI-Taiwan Real Estate Excellence Awards for 5 projects and the 2021 Taipei City Outstanding Public Works Awards for 7 projects in September and the National Golden Award for Architecture for 3 projects in October, demonstrating that the New Construction Office’s efforts and achievements are recognized and affirmed once again.

The overall planning and design of the Taipei City Dunhua Elementary School Building Reconstruction Project are based on the design image “Green Shade, Orange Light, Blue Sky and Going to School Conveniently”. To respect the campus environment, 2 old trees, a camphor tree and a red fruit fig-tree, are preferably kept in their original place; to create a green atmosphere, Green Shade elements are introduced into students’ learning environment through building layout; to achieve a sustainable environment, the scope of excavation is scaled down in terms of the volume of the building, so as to return the green space to the campus and reduce construction waste; to ensure children’s safety and provide a parent-friendly pick-up area, a friendly route and a pick-up area are designed in the underground parking lot for parents to pick up and drop off their children, so that students won’t have to rush when getting in and off. They will be able to walk to their classrooms safe and at ease. The project echoes the image “Green Shade, Orange Light, Blue Sky, and Going to School Conveniently”, and the education philosophy “Educating with hearts and love” is implemented through the architectural design, allowing students to learn and grow happily and healthily.

The Taipei City Beitou District Daoxiang New Construction Project of the Department Building aims to create a new lifestyle, Co-housing and Aging Together, by innovatively combining with health and welfare facilities, civic activity space, and local landscape features and humanistic spirit for multiple purposes. In addition, a daycare center, a home care center, an occupational therapy center, an infant care center, and a care base are set up, along with an existing supermarket, a resident activity center, a library and other facilities, aiming to construct a complex community public facility through strategic planning such as healthcare, long-term care facilities, land activation and reutilization, and so on. The east side of the building is adjacent to the waterfront of Shuimokeng stream, and the west side is connected to the open space of Daoxiang Park. Moreover, to provide openness and continuity on the ground level, a square-style open space of more than 100 square meters is reserved, and a length of 6 meters is shortened for urban greenbelts and pedestrian space, realizing the vision of a livable city.

In response to the fact that Taipei City is officially an aging society, the Changde Street Subway Connection Project aims to create a human-oriented traffic environment and address the problem of insufficient space for pedestrians by adopting a three-dimensional approach in coordination with the Western District Gateway Project promoted by the Taipei City Government, so as to expand the convenient living environment. By expanding the entrance of the mass transit system, establishing a human-oriented and friendly public traffic space and environment, and encouraging the public to use public transportation, the project aims to develop green transportation within a sustainable city. By diverting pedestrians on Changde Street and underground MRT passengers, the project aims to enhance the quality of existing roads and the utilization efficiency of the facilities to create a more comfortable barrier-free pedestrian environment.

In coordination with the Taipei Cultural and Sporting Complex Planning and Taipei Large Indoor Stadium Project, the Zhongxiao East Road Section 4 Underground Entrance New Construction Project aims to build a subway based on the development of housing and real estate in surrounding areas, connecting the Taipei Railway Workshop, the Songshan Cultural and Creative Park, Taipei Dome, the National Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall, and other public spaces from north to south, and combining sports and arts to give the public a brand new experience. Based on the “people-oriented” design concept, the project aims to create a pedestrian-friendly space, prevent pedestrian/vehicle conflicts on Zhongxiao East Road, and provide a comfortable pedestrian environment.

The Taipei City Neihu District XinHu XinHu Elementary School Activity Center New Construction Project aims to build an activity center that can serve as both a multi-functional sports venue and an art and performance center. The orchestra club of XinHu Elementary School has achieved good results in various contests despite limited space for practice. With the efforts of the Education Department of the Taipei City Government and local contributors, the Activity Center New Construction Project is finally set to provide teachers and students with a comfortable environment for practice. Once the project is completed, the three-story gymnasium will be a venue both for students’ indoor physical education and training and for gathering all teachers and students for big scale and important events. The auditorium on the 4th and 5th floor will be the school's major art and performance space, which can meet the requirements of organizing diverse talent shows, assemblies with audiovisual needs, graduation ceremonies, and other big scale events. The activity center will also be the best training base for the orchestra club. The project aims to create an excellent campus environment that meets the needs of the residents for leisure time, gathering, and evacuation, to build a friendly relationship with the neighborhood and become a new highlight around XinHu Elementary School.
