2021 Taipei City Voluntary Local Review

In line with the UN SDGs framework, Taipei City has published “Sustainable Development Goals – Taipei City Voluntary Local Review (VLR)” in 2019 and 2020 based on 17 SDGs and the City's current development.

This year, to align with the goal of net-zero emissions by 2050, Taipei City focused on SDG 13 climate actions to showcase the City’s determination to promote carbon reduction. The City examined how various SDGs are correlated with active measures, allowing climate actions to occupy a spot on the City’s policy agenda, rather than just a vision for the future. While implementing the SDGs by 2030, the City will continue to promote measures to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, including the development of renewable energy, electric vehicles, smart zero-carbon buildings, and a green innovation industrial environment, in order to gradually fulfill the goal of net-zero emissions by 2050.
