Celebrating 5-Star Ranking: Shidong Market Offers Discounted Gift Vouchers

A Shidong Market gift voucherTo celebrate 3 local traditional markets claiming 5-star ranking on the Ministry of Economic Affair’s Outstanding Market Assessment Report, Taipei City Government has allocated a budget of NT$1.5 million to these markets, taking the form of discounted gift vouchers for its loyal customers!

The special campaign kicks-off with Shidong Market on December 18, with the discounted gift vouchers going on for sale starting 10 AM. Customers will only need to pay NT$1,800 to purchase a gift voucher worth NT$2,000! Furthermore, the first 100 customers in line will receive an extra NT$500 grocery gift card with their purchased voucher.

The special discounted gift voucher will only be available on December 18 and 19. A total of NT$5 million’s worth of NT$2,000-denomination vouchers will be on sale at Entrance No. 5 of Shidong Market. Each customer can buy a maximum of NT$20,000’s worth of vouchers. Those purchasing a total amount of vouchers exceeding NT$10,000 will also receive one grocery gift card while supplies last.

The Shidong Market has been undergoing overhauls since 2012. Thanks to these efforts, the facility now has separate “wet” and “dry” areas, as well as a zone dedicated specifically to the centralized waste-processing and recycling. To ensure a clean environment for dining, the second-floor food court area employs reusable utensils made from stainless steel and ceramic wares. Market vendors have also passed an assessment conforming to the Department of Health’s GHP standards in March of 2020.

The Market Administration Office (MAO) pointed out that in addition to Shidong Market, similar thank-you campaigns are in the works for Ningxia Night Market and Nanmen Market as well.
