Taipei Pavilion Showing Soft Power of Big Data on 3/22 Amid Praise From Art Communities TaipeiPass AR Experience Highlights

The 2022 Smart City exhibition is finally here!  The event will be held at Hall 2 of the Nangang Exhibition Center from March 22 to March 25. "The Taipei Pavilion" focuses on “Data Governance” as the main theme, showcasing eight fields and dozens of innovative applications. New media master artist Hsin-Chien Huang of Taiwan is also invited to demonstrate the power and beauty of smart cities through his works. The exhibition is the first to connect with TaipeiPass to offer citizens physical-virtual integrated services through augmented reality (AR) applications.
Data governance is the core and key of a smart city. This year, a giant wall screen is used to show the evolution data of the city. Master artist Hsin-Chien Huang, winner of this year's Taipei Culture Awards, is invited to showcase "The Weight of Data", which incorporates the surreal images of robotic arms and AR to demonstrate the beautiful power of smart cities using big data.

Taipei City Mayor Ko Wen-je and Deputy Mayor Huang Shan-shan will serve as AR tour guides. The TaipeiPass App, which incorporates VR technology, will take visitors to explore the must-see attractions virtually, where they can use take photos with their phones. Visitors can also use the AR virtual signage guide to explore attractions around the pavilion.

Taipei City Government is committed to building a smart city that has been ranked the 4th in the world in the end of 2021. Two of its main services – "TaipeiOn - Innovative Smart Government Efficient Public Affairs Applications Ecosystem" and "Taipei City CooC Cloud 4.0" – have both won the nationwide 2022 Smart City Innovation Application Award, leading all counties and cities.

The city government’s pavilion features AI smart traffic control applications for smart transportation, "WORK SMART Platform" for smart security, "Taipei Circular Cup Demonstration Service" for smart environment, "Taipei Energy Management System Information Platform" for smart economy, "Health inspection and smart reality for education and training" and "Smart building management system" for the topic of smart health to create an all-around smart lifestyle for citizens. We welcome all members of the public to come visit and use the TaipeiPass App to collect badges at the eight main exhibition sections in exchange for exclusive gifts.
