To maintain smooth traffic flow and ensure traffic safety, the Taipei City Traffic Engineering Office conducted a trial period starting from October 18, 2024 on weekdays from 17:00 to 20:00, prohibiting right turns at the underpass exit of the Civic Boulevard on Huanhe North Road. The trial demonstrated that traffic flow at the exit could effectively utilize the 2 lanes, relieving traffic congestion. Additionally, observation showed an increase in left-turn traffic at the exit after 14:00 on weekdays, often causing congestion near Taipei Main Station. To prevent traffic congestion and improve efficiency, the right turn prohibition trial period will be extended from 14:00 to 20:00 starting from January 18, 2024.

The trial from October 18, 2023 that prohibited right turns from 17:00 to 20:00 on weekdays at the underpass exit of the Civic Boulevard on Huanhe North Road was observed by the Traffic Engineering Office to be effective in relieving left-turn traffic flow and reducing interweaving traffic. Furthermore, observation indicated an increase in left-turn traffic at the underpass exit after 14:00 on weekdays, with queues often extending to Taipei Main Station. To optimize traffic flow by fully utilizing the 2 lanes for left turns, a trial starting from January 18, 2024 will be held, prohibiting right turns from 14:00 to 20:00 on weekdays. Vehicles requiring right turns are advised to use the underpass exit on Chongqing North Road or find alternative routes. Drivers are reminded to obey traffic signs and signals for smooth and safe travel.
