Fireworks Light up the Sky over Dadaocheng on Saturday NightThe largest Chinese Valentines Day celebration in Taiwan lit up the sky over Dadaocheng with an extravagant firework showcase in the night of October 16!
Taking place at the Yanping Riverside Park next to Tamsui River, the 2021 Taipei Valentine’s Day and Fireworks Show featured love song performances by pop artists and bands and a 480-second-long pyrotechnic display starting at 8:10 PM.
Organized by the Department of Information and Tourism (TPEDOIT) and slated for mid-summer, the event has been postponed due to the pandemic. The artists performing at this year’s festival include Waa Wei, Pets Tseng, Accusefive, and more. The various public art displays such as “Free to Love”, “Infinite Love”, and “Taipei Bravo Balloon Landmark” attracted numerous visitors to take their selfies with.
During his address, Mayor Ko Wen-je remarked that many tragic events happened this year, including the derailment of the Taraoko Express, the wave of COVID-19 at home, and the recent fire in Kaohsiung. We should treasure our time spent with loved ones and express our gratitude to those who share valuable moments with us. In commemoration of the centennial anniversary of the Taiwan Cultural Association, the event this year highlights the theme of “Free to Love, Infinite Love.” He wished everyone a happy Chinese Valentine’s Day, as well as peace and happiness.
