Semeur is the champion of Taipei Breadology Competition at the Taipei International Bakery Show. Live showing bakery masters baking the taste of happiness

On the second day of Taipei International Bakery Show, Taipei Breadology Competition-Bread Creation with California Raisin and California Milk was running. Championship is Chen Chien-wen from Semur, and the runner up is Huang Hsuan-ming from Chirle Brown. On the competition site, bread masters showed their skill, and the aroma of traditional bread filled the air. In order to promote Taipei Breadology, Yu-yen CHIEN, commissioner of Department of Information and Tourism under Taipei City Government, was at the competition site and gave awards to winners. By broadcasting the live show of bread master’s baking process, Taipei’s bread story was shown and traditional Taipei bread was given a new face.
For the first time, 2016 Taipei International Bakery Show’s co-hosts, Taipei Bakery Association and Department of Information and Tourism, hosted the Taipei Breadology Competition-Bread Creation with California Raisin and California Milk in order to promote Taipei Breadology and tell people Taipei’s bread story. Taipei is the birthplace of early bread industry and has most bakeries in Taiwan. Taipei has many bakeries with long history and each bakery has its unique story. From traditional bread to modern European bread, we can feel Taipei is transforming into a modern city but also keeping its traditional taste. These inherited skills and stories show wisdom of Taipei bread and taste of Taipei. Taipei Bakery Association hosted this competition to attract famous bakeries to show their creativity; traditional bread, such as pineapple bun, red bean bun and green onion bread, is given a new face.
The winner and runner up of Taiwanese bread category were announced by Wu Kuan-te, Director of Taipei Bakery Association, and Yu-yen CHIEN, commissioner of Department of Information and Tourism under Taipei City Government. For Taiwanese bread category, eight candidates passed the first round. Some of those candidates mixed traditional bread with different elements. The winner was Chen Chien-wen from Semueur and the runner up was Huang Hsuan-ming from Chirle Brown. These bread masters added new feature into traditional bread and made Taiwanese bread a combination of traditional and new elements.
According to CHIEN, Taiwanese bread and Taipei culture are binding tight. Through this event, Taipei people will find the traditional Taipei bread from old time. That taste from old time always makes people feel happiness. By co-hosting Taipei Breadology Competition-Bread Creation with California Raisin and California Milk, Department of Information and Tourism and Taipei Bakery Association hope people will keep pursuing delicious traditional Taiwanese bread and make Taipei a capital of delicacies. Taiwanese bread has all kinds of flavor. There are sweet red bean bun, pineapple bun, and salty bun with pork floss on top, green onion bread. These are common tastes in every Taipei resident’s mind.
