2022 GO SMART PavillionFrom March 22 to March 25, GO SMART (Global Organization of Smart City) will set up its own Pavilion showcasing the projects collection at the Smart City Summit & Expo (hereinafter as “SCSE”), which includes the finalists and winners of the 2021 and 2022 GO SMART Award. With close to 20 outstanding smart city projects from around the globe, come and check out the Smart City Generative at GO SMART Pavilion!

GO SMART was established under an initiative backed by Taipei City Government in March 2019. The mission of GO SMART is to create a platform dedicated to sharing international resources, bringing stakeholders together and facilitating exchange, as well as helping members find their ideal business partners to accelerate smart city development. GO SMART is a relatively young association within the international smart city community. It currently has a total of 213 members from 22 countries which consists of cities, industries and NPO from around the world. GO SMART integrates international smart city capacities and relevant experiences.

This year GO SMART invites the following members to showcase their solutions at GO SMART Pavilion: UnaBiz, AQUIVIO, Grenoble Alpes, and ARK. UnaBiz provides IoT solutions. AQUIVIO offers healthier and personalized drinks. Grenoble Alpes shows innovative ecosystems. ARK is a team with the tech-core of 3D display technology patents. In addition, SurveyCake is an enterprise-level cloud survey service that focuses more on the questionnaire execution and interprets data into meaningful insights.

GO SMART began organizing the GO SMART Award in 2019, with the purpose of discovering and recognizing innovative and outstanding smart city projects from around the globe. The “Object Detection Kit” from Amsterdam is a system for the real-time collection and analysis of street-level imagery. This system can be attached to service vehicles, helping to identify problems across the city. To establish a barrier-free public transportation environment, the Department of Transportation of Taipei City Government has developed an APP with accessible user interface enabling visually-impaired passengers to look up real-time bus information and book rides. The system also reminds bus drivers that they will pick up visually impaired passengers. Through the APP’s IoT technology, user could book a bus ride and the booking message would be showed on the "changeable message sign" at the bus stops. Not only does the APP serve normal passengers, but it also assists disadvantaged passengers, demonstrating the benefits of Intelligent Transportation System. The iSAFE system provides a novel technology to achieve this vision better than traditional detection approaches. It can monitor the patient's body posture, breathing rate and heartbeat status in real time. This system is capable of providing 1 to 2 minutes of advanced warning time for nursing staff before these adverse events occur. The three 2021 GO SMART winners demonstrate the core values of Smart City.

The fourth edition of 2022 GO SMART Award this year has received a total of 42 applications submissions from 20 cities in 14 countries across 4 continents. The 14 finalists from Indonesia, the United States, Russia, the United Arab Emirates, Nigeria and Peru will have their solutions displayed at the GO SMART exhibition. Moreover, Taipei Urban Intelligence Center is responsible to facilitate Taipei City’s interdisciplinary urban data analytics and application for better city governance. GO SMART member Taichung City Government has teamed up with local industries to launch self-driving bus trials at the Shuinan Trade and Economic Park in 2019. The project converted two transit buses into self-driving vehicles which allows the self-driving buses to communicate information with local sensors.

In the post pandemic era, GO SMART acknowledges that this is an opportunity to promote smart city exposure, as well as integrating a collection of outstanding projects. GO SMART hereby invites you to participate in the four-day SCSE event (March 22 to 25) and witness the amazing smart city projects that the GO SMART Generative has to offer!
