Travel through time at the Dadaocheng Public Art gallery

Summer is here! The restaurants and cafes at Dadaocheng have gained popularity amongst youngsters as the hottest place to hangout. Perhaps to the surprise of many, Dadaocheng used to be synonymous with modernity during the time of the older generation. In fact, the Dadaocheng Summer Art event this year, “Grandma’s Teenage Dream”, will allow you to travel through time as you walk past the public art displayed on the streets and feel the flourishing atmosphere of Dadaocheng decades ago. In addition, the Dadaocheng Visitor Center has not only extended their work hours until 7pm every weekend from June 25th to July 3rd but also offered volunteer service to help tourists take polaroid pictures at Dadaocheng near URS329 Rice and Shine and the plaza in front of Yongle Market at 15:00-16:00 and URS127 and the plaza in front of Yongle Market next to the public art gallery at 17:00-18:00 every weekend.

According to head of City Tourism Division at the Department of Information and Tourism Shi-jia Wang, the Taipei Department of Information and Tourism is working with the Taipei City Regeneration Office to construct a Dadaocheng Visitor Center at URS44 to offer tourists the friendliest and most high-quality service possible. The visitor center includes a unique counter resembling a Chinese herbal pharmacy and decadent, Taiwanese styled couches for visitors to rest upon visiting. Furthermore, in collaboration with the Dadaocheng Summer Art festival, the visitor center volunteers will be offering service at URS sites and helping visitors take free Polaroid photos at the public art galleries. Moreover, the Dadaocheng Visitor Center extended hours until 19:00, visitors can look up the stores that have also extended their hours for the festival.
