DOH: Taipei City’s COVID Update for March 29

Clinics offering COVID vaccination for eldersThe Department of Health (DOH) reported a total of 3 new domestic and 7 new imported cases of COVID-19 for March 29. The ages of the international patients range from their 10’s to 40’s. They include 6 men and 4 women arriving from the US, Malaysia, Vietnam, South Korea, and Hong Kong. Two of the cases are still being investigated.
As for the new domestic cases, one of them is a female resident of Zhongshan District in her 20’s (Case 23063) who experienced throat pains on March 27 and tested positive on March 28 with a CT value of 22.1. DOH has placed 47 people on the contact-tracing list under home isolation and testing. Currently, six of the individuals have tested negative and 41 people have yet to be tested.
Case 23064 is a caretaker from Indonesia in her 20s who works in Songshan District. She is responsible for the care of Case 23065, a woman in her 40s. After experiencing fever, throat pain, and muscle pain on March 27, she showed positive result on the PCR test on March 28 with CT value of 17.7. A total of 3 individuals with close contact were isolated at home – one of them being Case 23065 who has a CT value of 14.3.
As of noon March 29, the tests for 123 people under home isolation due to their contact with cases 22952, 23022, and 23024 yielded the following: 39 negatives and 84 tests still under analysis. For the extended contact-tracing list, a total of 133 people were tested, showing 6 negative results so far.
DOH reminds citizens that there may be random COVID-19 cases in the community and calls upon the public to remain vigilant in monitoring their own health via routine temperature checks and awareness of possible symptoms such as fever, throat pain, cough, runny nose, diarrhea, and sudden loss of taste or smell. Those who exhibit suspicious symptoms should take a home rapid test and proceed to take a PCR test at any of the following local hospitals: Taipei City Hospital Heping, Zhongxing, Renai, Yangming, and Zhongxiao branches, as well as Wanfang hospital and Guandu hospital (from 8:30 AM to 11:30 AM [11 AM for Guandu Hospital] Monday through Friday).
