The Taipei City Government Attends the UCLG ASPAC Council Meeting and Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Forum

Yang Ching-hui, director of the Taipei City Government International Affairs Advisory Council, and Wu Bei-yu, the head of the International Affairs Division of the Secretariat, attended the UCLG ASPAC Council Meeting and Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Forum in Makati, the Philippines on September 4–7, 2019. In the current UCLG ASPAC Council held by the UCLG ASPAC member Makati City Government, member cities shared their experience in disaster risk reduction and management and nominated and elected the presidents and co-presidents for 2019–2021 UCLG World. In addition, the host city holding the eighth UCLG ASPAC Council in 2020 was decided in the current council. Attendees listened to the council work report presented by the Secretariat. In the council, Taipei City was successfully nominated for presidents and co-presidents for 2019–2021 UCLG World. The Taipei City government’s representative team also visited sister cities Manila and Quezon Cities to maintain bonding between the sister cities.
