March 11, 2009 | Mayor Hau Lung-bin led a delegation to San Francisco, Los Angeles and Seattle, visiting the mayors of these cities: Gavin Newsom, Antonio Villaraigosa and Gregory Nickels, respectively. The delegation visited the cities’ local urban renewal projects, waterfront cities, environmental protection, ecology, traffic, and high-tech construction initiatives for future administrative reference. The trip ended on March 22. |
April 6, 2009 | The Secretariat of the Taipei City Government hosted an Efficient Energy Conservation Citation Awards and Technology Exhibition for the 2008 Academic Year for Schools and Agencies under the Taipei City Government. |
June 3, 2009 | Mayor Hau Lung-bin led a delegation to Italy for the 53rd Venice Biennale in Italy for the opening ceremony of the Taiwan Pavilion. The delegation also visited Florence, inspected historic sites maintenance and reinvigoration in Rome for future administrative reference. The tour wrapped up on June 10. |
June 21, 2009 | Deputy Secretary-General Chen Yong-ren of the Taipei City Government led a delegation to the 2009 International Children's Games in the Greek city of Athens. The Taipei team garnered 4 gold, 3 silver and 5 bronze medals--an extra-ordinary achievement. |
June 26, 2009 | Mayor Hau Lung-bin led a delegation to Hong Kong for the “21th Summer Deaflympics Taipei 2009 International Press Conference,” and made an official visit to HKSAR Chief Executive, Donald Tsang, and inspected the site of the stadium for Hong Kong's East Asian Games--" Tseung Kwan O Sports Ground" as well as the plans of the site for future administrative reference. The tour concluded on June 27. |
December 12, 2009 | Deputy Secretary-General Chen Yong-ren of the Taipei City Government visited Copenhagen with a delegation for the Cities Climate Summit 2009, the 2009 United Nations Climate Change Conference, and the 5th Meeting of the Parties (COP/MOP 5) to the Kyoto Protocol. Chen discussed Taipei City’s energy efficiency measures during the Mayors’ Roundtable Forum. |
