Regulation of professional ethics among civil servants is a priority for all developed countries. Our ethics regulations reflect the intent of civil servant codes of conduct found in the UK and the US and are based on the laws of the Executive Yuan. We established these regulations in order to encourage civil servants to steer clear of criminal acts such as corruption and bribery. The civil servant code of conduct is in place to promote and ensure moral and efficient administration. We have also standardized the transparency procedure for receiving valuables, attending banquets and matters pertaining to the conduct of civil servants.
