John Jorritsma, Mayor of Eindhoven, Netherlands, led a delegation to visit Mayor Ko

Mayor John Jorritsma of Eindhoven led a delegation representing innovative Dutch industries to visit Mayor Ko on June 6th. During the visit, the two mayors jointly signed a Smart City Memorandum of Understanding. This memorandum will be used to strengthen the cooperation and exchange of views between the two cities regarding smart cities, innovative industries, and circular economics. At the same time, in the presence of Mayor Ko and Mayor Jorritsma, Taiwan’s Department of Transportation and the Dutch company Sorama signed a memorandum of understanding on the application of Sound Cameras to traffic safety. 
 
In January, Mayor Ko led a delegation to visit Mayor Jorritsma in Eindhoven. In addition to the exchanges and discussions on cooperation between the two cities,
Brainport Eindhoven signed a memorandum of cooperation with Taiwan’s Industrial Technology Research Institute in the presence of both mayors. At that time, Mayor Ko also visited High Tech Campus Eindhoven, PHILIPS, and the Maxima Medical Center.
 
In recent years, Taipei City and Eindhoven have actively promoted the development of smart cities and sustainable development. Both cities also hope to expand exchanges and cooperation in more fields in the future to accelerate innovation and enhance urban competitiveness.
 
Mayor Jorritsma will lead 17 innovative companies from the Netherlands to participate in InnoVEX, the innovative special exhibition of Computex Taipei, which will enhance the friendship and economic cooperation between the two sides and develop the spirit of urban exchange and mutual assistance.
