Director of the Austrian Commercial Office in Taipei, Dr. Hermann Ortner, visits Mayor Ko

New Representative of Austrian Commercial Office, Hermann Ortner Visited Mayor Ko
On October 16, 2020, the new director and the deputy director of the Austrian Commercial Office in Taipei, Dr. Hermann Ortner and Stefan Stantejsky, visited Mayor Ko. Participants from Ko’s team included the Commissioner of Mayor’s Office for External Affairs Tom Chou; Commissioner of the Department of Economic Development Chung-Chieh Lin; Commissioner of the Department of Transportation Shyue-Tair Chen, Commissioner of the Department of Information Technology Hsin-Ke Lu, Executive Director of the International Affairs Advisory Council Gordon Yang, and Director of the Invest Taipei Office Yi-Chung Lo. Both parties exchanged and discussed bilateral innovative industry cooperation. 
 
Director Ortner stated that his office held Austria Food Exhibition at Taipei City to introduce cuisine of his country. It also held the Austria Technology Day. In the form of video conference, it provided an exchange platform for technology industries in Taiwan and Austria. In addition, the office plans to arrange an Austrian economic and trade delegation to Taipei next year (2021) to participate in Cybersec 2021 in March and in Computex and InnoVEX in June.
 
Mayor Ko responded that he cordially welcomed the Austrian economic and trade delegation to Taiwan to participate in activities. Taipei City Government will be happy to assist in the matter regarding the delegation visits. If the time coincides with the delegation’s visit, they will be invited to attend the 2020 Smart City Mayors’ Summit from March 23 to 26, held by Taipei City Government. In the future, Taipei City Government will continue to exchange with Austrian Commercial Office in Taipei to reinforce the friendship between Taiwan and Austria and to consolidate industry cooperation.
