2. According to Section 11 of the “National Armed Forces Enlistment and Discharge Procedures”, conscripted men shall undergo a physical examination at the reception office in compliance with “Conscripted Men’s Physical Fitness Classification Standards” and “Procedure of Physical Examination Review for Conscripted Men and Regular Enlisted Men” when reporting for duty. Anyone whose physical fitness has been examined by the existing equipment at the training unit and assessed as unqualified for Class B or above shall be withdrawn due to poor fitness, according to regulations.

At training facilities, the fitness level of a serviceman cannot be determined due to the shortage of necessary equipment. Therefore, servicemen will be sent to a military hospital for a physical checkup. The decision as to whether a unit shall accept or withdraw them shall be subject to the results given and confirmed by the military hospital. Anyone with subpar fitness shall proceed with the withdrawal procedure if his poor fitness is confirmed within 30 days. If the review takes more than 30 days, he shall undergo a suspension procedure.
