Mayor Wan-An Chiang Cheers for the Mayor of the City of Gold Coast on the Field, Encouraging Athletes to Give It Their All and Enjoy the Game

On May 19, Mayor Wan-An Chiang made a special visit to the rugby field at the Bailing Left Bank Riverside Park to kick off and cheer for the World Masters Games 2025 Taipei & New Taipei City rugby match. The game featured Mosman Masters, a team led by Mayor of the Gold Coast, a sister city of Taipei City, competing against OceanLand Blizzard, a team composed of rugby enthusiasts and retired military personnel from central Taiwan. The match was lively, with both teams showing strong offensive and defensive plays, embodying the spirit of sports beyond age.


On-site, Mosman Masters presented a jersey to Mayor Chiang as a token of enduring friendship between the City of Gold Coast and Taipei City. Mayor Chiang expressed his great honor in attending the event and cheering for the athletes. He warmly welcomed Mayor Tate and his team to Taiwan, emphasizing the deep and long-standing friendship and exchanges between Taiwan and Australia. Mayor Chiang stated that the core spirit of the World Masters Games 2025 Taipei & New Taipei City is “sports beyond age, life without limits.” Through events like this, he hopes to encourage public participation in sports and promote lifelong sport engagement.
