"Taipei City Fire Department Jiantan Station Rebuild Project" – Work opens on a gold level green building's construction

The groundbreaking ceremony for the "Taipei City Fire Department Jiantan Station Rebuild Project" – the new public building highlight of the Taipei City Government – was held at Section 5, Zhongshan North Road on April 23, 2019. The gold-level green building with 10 floors above ground and 2 floors underground is scheduled to be completed by May 2021.

The New Construction Office (NCO), Public Works Department, Taipei City Government noted that the office of the newly organized "Fire Department Jiantan Station" is an energy-saving smart building aiming at gold level green building certification, and is benchmarking the Taipei City Government's efforts in environmental protection and energy saving. Based on the most advantageous tender, the total construction work was won by Cuo-Chi Construction Co., Ltd. who also won the Public Construction Golden Quality Award while the design work was won by Liao Yen-wei Architects. The overall design of the building takes energy saving and construction sustainability into account, and with first priority on improved firefighting mission efficiency. It will contain the historical name of "Jiantan" in its façade style, and be aligned with neighboring buildings' material and color by granite and aluminum curtain wall for seamless blending into the environment.

Mr. Chen Pai-ching, head of Shilin Public Works Office, Public Works Section, NCO, said that the new building aimed to provide complete service spaces and premium office environments for battalion, volunteer firemen, department of environment protection, and volunteer firewomen's battalion to improve and complete firefighting and disaster rescue service quality as well as performance.
