What is the International Affairs Commission of Taipei City Government?
Our mission is to increase Taipei’s participation in the international community and to develop citizen diplomacy. The chairman of the International Affairs Commission is the Mayor of Taipei. The thirty-three members include experts, scholars, and legislators with expertise in cultural, foreign affairs, economic and trade matters (including commissioners of Taipei City Government departments). Meetings are held every six months. The Commission aims to develop and assure the implementation of foreign affairs policies, to advise on international strategies, to coordinate international activities organized or sponsored by the City Government, to suggest ways to hold international conferences and activities in cooperation with non-governmental organizations and to enhance the involvement of Taipei City Government in international cooperation.
