As of Apr. 2024, the number of legally registered factories in the City was 918 wherein 127 are manufacturers of computers, electronic and optical products; 116 are manufacturers of fabricated metal products; 74 are printing and reproduction factories of recorded media; 111 are manufacturers of food products; 76 are manufacturers of machinery and equipment; 60 are manufacturers of electrical equipment; and 54 are manufacturers of electronic parts and components;totaling 618 factories, and accounting for 67.32% of the total number of factories in the City. They are the major categories of the City’s existing factories. Distribution by administrative region: Neihu District tops the rank with 397 factories, followed by Nangang District with 226 factories, together making up 67.86％ of the total.
